We are proud to share that the Chair of the Modern Education Foundation, Petya Evtimova, took part as an invited speaker in the high-level European webinar “Learning for a greener future”, organised by CEDEFOP in collaboration with UNESCO-UNEVOC on 2 June 2025. The event was part of the official programme of the EU Green Week 2025, gathering leading experts from across Europe and beyond to discuss how vocational education and training (VET) can drive the green transition.
Petya Evtimova contributed to a panel discussion on “Moving from sustainability ambitions to green skills ecosystems – what does it take?”. Speaking alongside representatives of InnoEnergy, Niagara College (Canada), and FIAP (Germany), she presented the Bulgarian perspective and lessons from the ENTIRE project, emphasising the importance of stakeholder collaboration, national ReferNet networks, and bottom-up innovation in greening vocational training.
The event marked the launch of CEDEFOP’s latest practical guide “Meeting skill needs for the green transition: skills anticipation and VET for a greener future”. In her intervention, Ms. Evtimova underlined that aligning labour market intelligence, curriculum innovation, and teacher training is essential to prepare learners for the realities of a changing economy. She highlighted the role of regional actors and pilot projects in creating scalable models for green VET ecosystems.
Her participation at this prestigious event reflects the Foundation’s commitment to advancing education that is sustainable, inclusive, and future-oriented. It also reinforces Bulgaria’s presence in key European debates on skills for the green economy.
