On 18 and 19 June, the Modern Education Foundation took the lead in organising, facilitating, and evaluating an international training for trainers of company mentors working in dual education. The event brought together 16 professionals from Bulgaria, Spain, and Belgium, exceeding initial targets and underlining the strong interest in the integration of AI into mentoring practices.
The training focused on two key areas: strengthening trainers’ understanding of artificial intelligence, and applying AI tools in real-life mentoring situations across all phases of the mentor–apprentice relationship. From preparation and induction to implementation and evaluation, participants explored how AI can support company mentors in giving feedback, adapting learning tasks, and tracking progress while always keeping the human connection at the core.
As lead facilitator of the training, MEF played a central role in ensuring that the content was relevant, practical, and tailored to the realities of work-based learning. The Foundation guided participants through interactive sessions, hands-on exploration of tools, and peer-led training simulations, while also overseeing the evaluation process.
This training is part of MEF’s broader commitment to enhancing the quality and attractiveness of dual education in Bulgaria. The Foundation continues to support companies involved in apprenticeship by providing practical tools, training programmes, and guidance for mentors. By promoting innovation and helping bridge the gap between education and the workplace, MEF aims to ensure that on-the-job learning remains effective, relevant, and future-ready.
With the training now completed, participating trainers are ready to pass on their knowledge to company mentors helping them support apprentices more confidently, more effectively, and with the right balance between human guidance and digital innovation.
