ENTIRE Project

In order to realize the green economy, Vocational Education and Training (VET) systems are increasingly expected to develop a workforce equipped with the skills and abilities needed to support this evolving economic model. The overarching objective of the ENTIRE project (Greening VET Curricula for Electricians) is to support VET providers in adapting their training to meet the changing demands for green skills, thereby contributing to the goals of the European Green Deal.

Given that energy efficiency is a central principle of the Clean Energy policy area within the European Commission’s initiatives, the Electrician occupation was chosen as the pilot vocation for this project. Electricians play a crucial role in proposing and implementing more efficient electricity installations, both in buildings and industries. By making simple yet impactful changes, they can significantly contribute to reducing our carbon footprint.

Electrician VET learners, when trained with the appropriate green skills—both general and occupation-specific—can become true agents of energy efficiency, driving forward the goals of the green economy.

The ENTIRE project, funded by the EU Erasmus+ Programme under KA2 Strategic Partnerships for VET, was coordinated by the Modern Education Foundation in Bulgaria and ran from February 2022 to July 2023.

We are pleased to share the final version of our second key output—the Training Programme for Electrical Engineering VET Teachers for Green Skills Integration in VET Curricula. This programme has been thoughtfully designed to provide VET teachers with the necessary knowledge and competencies to integrate green skills into their teaching.

As Dr. Afrikanov, our academic reviewer, aptly summarized:

“This programme has been carefully designed to equip Vocational Education and Training (VET) teachers with the necessary knowledge and competencies to incorporate green skills into their teaching. The programme’s strength lies in its modular structure, offering four comprehensive modules that target key areas in green skills training: supporting resource efficiency, low carbon industry, climate resilience, and managing natural assets. Each module combines theoretical knowledge with practical exercises and tools, thereby facilitating the application of green skills in everyday teaching and learning contexts.”
