The Ministry of Education and Science announced at the “Demographic Future of the Regions” discussion in Etropole that 694 companies are now participating in dual education. This is a significant milestone, demonstrating the growing popularity and impact of learning by doing in Bulgaria, which is crucial for equipping young people with the practical skills they need to thrive in the workforce.
We, at the Modern Education Foundation, have been actively involved in promoting dual education, and we are thrilled to see this positive trend. Our experience in vocational education and training has consistently shown us that strong partnerships between businesses and schools are key to developing students’ practical skills.
However, while this growth is encouraging, there are still challenges to overcome. We need a more flexible approach to curriculum development, ensuring that educational programs can be updated regularly to meet the evolving needs of businesses. With technology advancing rapidly and the demand for green and digital skills on the rise, our education system needs to adapt to these new realities.
That is why the Modern Education Foundation is dedicated to continuously improving the dual education system, making sure it is responsive to the dynamic needs of both industry and society.
While we celebrate the progress we have made so far, we know there is still a lot of work to be done. We need to foster even closer collaboration between businesses and educational institutions to ensure that young people are fully prepared for the challenges of the modern world.
